About Angle Guess

Angle Guess is a short estimation puzzle. A wedge made of two glowing lines appears on a starry protractor backdrop, and you have to work out how wide the opening is without any numbers to help. You answer with a slider, then the game reveals the true angle and shows how far off you were. It is a surprisingly addictive test of spatial judgment.

It suits anyone who likes quick brain teasers, from students practicing geometry to people who just enjoy checking their eyesight against the facts. A full game is five rounds and takes about two minutes. A strong run means landing within a few degrees every round, which is harder than it sounds once the big reflex angles show up.

How to play Angle Guess

  1. Look at the wedge and judge how wide the opening between the two yellow lines is.
  2. Move the slider until the number under the picture matches your estimate, anywhere from 0 to 360 degrees.
  3. Press Guess to lock it in and watch the red marker sweep out your answer next to the real one.
  4. Check how many points the round gave you, then press Next.
  5. Finish all five rounds to post your total.

Controls

Keyboard and mouseDrag the slider with the mouse, or nudge it one degree at a time with the arrow keys. Press Enter or Space to lock in your guess, and press it again to move on to the next round. Ctrl+P pauses and Ctrl+M mutes.
Phone and tabletDrag the golden handle on the slider with your finger, then tap the Guess button. After the result appears, tap Next, or Finish after the last round.

Scoring

Each round is worth up to 100 points and the reward drops quickly as your error grows. An error of 5 degrees still gives about 84 points, 10 degrees gives about 55, and anything past roughly 16 degrees scores nothing. A perfect game is 500, and a total above 400 means you were consistently within a few degrees.

Tips and strategy

  • Anchor yourself on landmarks first: a flat line is 180, a square corner is 90, and half of a square corner is 45. Then adjust up or down from there.
  • The wedge is rotated differently each round, so ignore which way it points. Only the gap between the two lines matters, not the tilt.
  • The first three rounds only use angles below 180 degrees. From round four the wedge can be reflex, so check whether the opening looks bigger than a straight line.
  • Use the arrow keys for the last few degrees. Fine steps of one degree are easier than steering the slider handle precisely.
  • Because the penalty grows with the square of your miss, a cautious guess near a landmark beats a wild one. Avoid a 20 degree error that scores zero.

Angle Guess FAQ

▸Can I score above 100 in a single round?

No. Each round tops out at 100 points for a perfect guess, so five rounds cap the game at 500. Rounds with a very small error show confetti.

▸Why did a guess that felt close give me zero?

The scoring is steep. Once you are about 17 degrees or more away, the round gives no points. Small misses of a few degrees still earn most of the points.

▸Are the angles the same every game?

No, they are random each time. The first three rounds stay under 180 degrees, and the last two can be any angle up to nearly a full turn.

▸Does this count towards the weekly leaderboard?

Yes, your five-round total is submitted when the game ends and earns XP, so a steady, accurate run helps your standing.
