About Bubble Shooter
Bubble Shooter puts you at the bottom of the screen with a cannon and a packed cluster of coloured bubbles hanging from the ceiling. You fire one bubble at a time, and when your shot joins two or more of the same colour to make a group of three or more, the whole group pops. Any bubbles left dangling with nothing above them then drop away too.
It is a relaxed but tactical game for anyone who enjoys aiming and planning. A session runs about three to eight minutes. A strong run clears whole boards and moves up through the levels, using the side walls for bank shots and bringing down large hanging clusters in one go.
How to play Bubble Shooter
- Aim with the dotted guide line, which shows where your bubble will travel, including bounces off the side walls.
- Fire so your bubble touches at least two bubbles of the same colour and forms a group of three or more.
- Look at the NEXT bubble beside the cannon and plan your following shot.
- Watch the counter that says when the ceiling will drop; every few missed shots a new row is added at the top.
- Clear every bubble to advance a level, and do not let the pile reach the dashed red line.
Controls
| Keyboard and mouse | Move the mouse to aim the cannon and click to fire. You can also aim with the left and right arrow keys and fire with Space or Enter, or click the FIRE button in the corner. |
|---|---|
| Phone and tablet | Drag your finger to swing the aim line, then lift your finger above the cannon to fire. The FIRE button in the bottom right also shoots the current bubble. |
Scoring
Popping a group gives 10 points per bubble, and any bubbles cut loose and dropped earn 20 each with extra points when three or more fall together. Clearing the whole board adds 200 and begins the next level with more colours. Cutting loose big hanging clusters is the quickest way to a high score.
Tips and strategy
- Aim for bubbles that hold up a large cluster. Popping a small group near the top can drop many bubbles at once, and those drops pay twice as much as ordinary pops.
- Use the side walls. The guide line shows one or more bounces, so you can reach colours hidden behind other bubbles without touching them.
- Check the shot counter before every move. When it shows one shot left, a miss will push the whole pile down a row, so only take safe shots.
- Only the colours still on the board are given to you most of the time, so clear a colour completely when you can, and you will stop receiving it.
- Keep the pile away from the red dashed line. When the bottom row starts to glow, shift your focus from big combos to pulling down the lowest bubbles.
Bubble Shooter FAQ
▸Why did a new row appear at the top?
The ceiling drops after a set number of shots that do not pop anything. That number starts at seven and gets smaller as you move up levels, so later levels give you less room for misses.
▸What ends the game?
The round ends when any bubble in the pile reaches the dashed line above your cannon. Your score and the level you reached are then recorded.
▸Do I have to touch the screen to aim?
Aiming follows your pointer or finger. On a keyboard you can nudge the aim with the left and right arrow keys, which moves it in small steps, then fire with Space.
