About Capital Circuit
Capital Circuit is a typing quiz about world geography. A country name appears, sometimes beside its flag, and you type the capital city before a timer bar empties. You have three lives, and each right answer extends a streak that raises your points. The question pool covers well over a hundred countries and reshuffles when you get through it, so repeats come back in a new order.
It suits students, trivia fans and anyone who wants to fill gaps in their map knowledge in a few minutes. Wrong answers show the correct capital, so you learn as you lose. A good run is a long streak where you answer quickly, because both streak length and remaining time add to every score.
How to play Capital Circuit
- Read the country name shown on the card.
- Type its capital city in the box before the timer bar runs out.
- Submit with Enter or the Answer button.
- Keep an eye on your three hearts; a wrong answer, a skip or a timeout each cost one.
- Play on until all three hearts are gone.
Controls
| Keyboard and mouse | Type the capital into the text box and press Enter or click Answer. Click Skip to give up on a question. Ctrl+P pauses and Ctrl+M mutes. |
|---|---|
| Phone and tablet | Tap the text box to open the keyboard, type the city and tap Answer or the keyboard's enter key. Tap Skip if you do not know it. |
Scoring
A correct answer earns 10 points, plus 2 for every question in your current streak, plus one point for each second still left on the timer. Mistakes reset the streak to zero. Long streaks answered quickly produce the biggest totals, so accuracy matters more than any single fast answer.
Tips and strategy
- Answer as soon as you know it. Every second left on the timer adds a point, and the time limit shrinks gradually from 20 seconds toward 8 as you progress.
- Do not worry about accents or capital letters. The check ignores case, spaces and punctuation, so typing quickly in lowercase is fine.
- Small typos are forgiven on longer city names, but short names must be exact. Double-check names like Lima or Baku before you press Enter.
- Some countries accept more than one answer, such as Bolivia, South Africa and Sri Lanka. If you know either city, type it.
- Skipping costs a life just like a wrong guess, so only skip to protect your streak when you truly have no idea and want to see the answer.
Capital Circuit FAQ
▸Do I need to type accents?
No. Accents, capital letters, spaces and hyphens are ignored when checking your answer, so Bogota matches Bogotá.
▸Why was my answer marked wrong when I was close?
Only longer city names allow one small spelling mistake. Short names must match exactly, and a different city entirely counts as wrong.
▸What happens when the timer runs out?
You lose a heart, your streak resets and the correct capital is shown before the next country appears.
▸Does my score count for the weekly leaderboard?
Yes, the score is submitted when you lose your last heart and can count toward the weekly leaderboard and XP.
