About Fruit Slice
Fruit Slice throws colorful fruit into the air and asks you to cut it in half with a quick swipe. A glowing blade trail follows your finger or mouse, juice splashes the background, and every so often a fused bomb flies up among the fruit. The fun comes from fast, satisfying swipes balanced against the risk of touching the wrong object.
It suits anyone who wants a quick burst of action, with sessions of one to three minutes. Younger players enjoy the splashes, while score chasers aim for multi-fruit swipes. A good run means keeping all three lives, slicing several pieces in one pass and steering the blade around bombs once they become frequent.
How to play Fruit Slice
- Watch fruit launch from the bottom and arc across the screen.
- Swipe through each fruit to cut it. Passing through several fruits in one stroke slices them all.
- Never cut a bomb, the dark ball with a red cross and a lit fuse.
- Let bombs fall off the bottom without touching them. They are never counted against you.
- You have three lives, shown as hearts. Each fruit that falls out of view uncut costs one life, and the game ends when they are gone.
Controls
| Keyboard and mouse | Hold the mouse button down and drag across the fruit to slice it. The blade only cuts while the button is held, so release it to steer clear of bombs. |
|---|---|
| Phone and tablet | Swipe your finger across the screen over the flying fruit. Lift your finger to stop cutting. |
Scoring
Each fruit you slice is worth 1 point. Cutting two or more in a single swipe earns an extra bonus equal to the number you cut, so a triple slice is worth 6 points in total. Because scores are small and rise with each swipe, 30 or more points is a solid run and a streak of multi-cuts pushes it higher.
Tips and strategy
- Wait until two or three fruits cross paths, then draw one long line through them. The multi-slice bonus is the quickest way to raise your score.
- Lift your finger or release the mouse button between swipes. The blade does not hurt anything while up, which keeps you safe from bombs.
- Check the whole screen for bombs before swiping. They appear more often as the round continues, from roughly one in twelve launches to more than one in four.
- Do not waste a life chasing an out-of-reach fruit near a bomb. Losing a heart is better than touching a bomb, which ends the game instantly.
- Aim for the fruit as it reaches the top of its arc. It moves slowest there, so your swipe has more time to connect.
Fruit Slice FAQ
▸What happens if I hit a bomb?
The game ends immediately, whatever your remaining lives. The bomb explodes, the screen flashes, and your current score is submitted.
▸Do missed bombs count against me?
No. Only fruit that falls off the bottom takes a heart. Bombs can fall freely without a penalty.
▸Does it get harder?
Yes. Fruit launches more frequently as time passes, bigger groups can fly up together, and the chance of a bomb in each launch goes up over the first minute or two.
▸Why does my slice not register sometimes?
The blade only cuts while you are pressing the button or touching the screen, and it checks the line between your last two positions. Short, fast swipes with a steady hold work best.
