About Helix Tower 3D

Helix Tower 3D is a falling-ball game set on a tall, twisting tower. A bouncing ball sits at the top, and the tower is built from colourful rings with gaps in them. You cannot move the ball sideways. Instead you spin the whole tower so a gap lines up under the ball, letting it drop through to the next ring below.

It suits players who like short, tense arcade runs of about one to three minutes. Some segments are red and deadly to land on. A strong run is a chain of rings passed without touching any, which builds a combo and eventually sets the ball on fire so it can smash straight through the next ring.

How to play Helix Tower 3D

  1. Spin the tower so that a gap sits directly under the ball, which stays in the middle of the screen.
  2. Let the ball fall through the gap to the ring beneath, and repeat as it keeps going down.
  3. If the ball lands on a normal segment, it simply bounces back up and your combo resets.
  4. Never land on a red segment, because that ends the run straight away.
  5. Pass three rings in a row without a bounce to set the ball on fire, then drop onto the next ring to smash it.

Controls

Keyboard and mousePress and drag the mouse left or right over the game to spin the tower, or hold the left and right arrow keys, or A and D, to rotate it continuously.
Phone and tabletPut a finger on the screen and swipe sideways to rotate the tower. The further you drag, the further it turns, and it follows your finger closely.

Scoring

Each ring you fall past scores points equal to your current combo, capped at four per ring, so the first ring gives 1, then 2, then 3, then 4 for every ring after. Landing resets the combo to zero. When the run ends you see how many rings you reached, and long unbroken falls score much better than careful bouncing.

Tips and strategy

  • Line up the next gap before the ball arrives. You can rotate while it is falling, so start turning as soon as you pass a ring.
  • Plan for combos. Once you pass three rings in a row the ball burns, and the next ring it touches shatters, even if you land on a red segment.
  • Gaps shrink as you go deeper. Rings start with a four segment gap, and later ones can be as narrow as two, so make smaller, more precise turns.
  • Red segments are not placed in the first couple of rings, but they become more numerous the lower you go. Check where they are before committing to a gap.
  • Do not over-rotate. Dragging a long way can swing a gap past the ball, so use short, steady movements and let the tower settle.

Helix Tower 3D FAQ

▸Can I move the ball left or right?

No. The ball stays in the centre, and only the tower turns. Your whole job is to rotate the rings so a gap is lined up underneath.

▸What does the fire effect mean?

After you pass three rings without landing, the ball burns and the screen shows Smash Ready. The next ring it hits is broken through, including a ring with red segments, and then the combo starts over.

▸What ends a run?

Landing on a red segment. Plain segments only make you bounce, so a mistake on those costs you your combo but not the game.
