About Mini Golf
Mini Golf takes you around nine small courses seen from above. Each hole has a par, a flag marking the cup, and a few obstacles to deal with: wooden walls to bounce off, sand that slows the ball, water that costs you a stroke, and moving red bars that swing across the path. The aim is to sink the ball in as few strokes as possible.
It suits relaxed players who like thinking about angles more than reflexes. A full round of nine holes takes about five to eight minutes. A good round sticks close to par on every hole, and the best moments come from a well-judged bank shot that drops in for a birdie or a hole in one.
How to play Mini Golf
- Pull back from the ball. The dotted line shows the direction and the small bar under the ball shows the power.
- Release to hit. The ball rolls, slows down and bounces off walls.
- Sink the ball in the dark cup by the flag. It only drops in if it is rolling gently enough.
- Avoid water, which adds a stroke and returns the ball to where you last hit from.
- Finish all nine holes. If you take nine strokes on one hole, the game moves you to the next.
Controls
| Keyboard and mouse | Click and drag backward from the ball, then release to shoot. Alternatively, use Left and Right (or A and D) to turn the aim, Up and Down (or W and S) to set power, and press Space or Enter to hit. |
|---|---|
| Phone and tablet | Touch the screen, drag back away from the direction you want to go, and lift your finger to hit. A longer drag means a stronger shot. |
Scoring
Each hole scores 25 points for every stroke below par plus four. On a par 3, that means 100 for three strokes, 125 for two and 150 for one, and a hole in one adds a flat 100 bonus. At the end the screen shows your total strokes next to the course par of 28.
Tips and strategy
- Use soft shots when the cup is near. A ball moving fast skips over the hole, while one rolling gently drops in and even gets pulled toward it.
- Plan banks off the walls. The ball loses only a little speed on each wall hit, so angled shots can reach cups hidden behind barriers.
- Sand drains speed quickly, so hit harder when crossing it, and do not aim to stop in it. A ball that stops there needs a much stronger shot next time.
- For the moving bars, watch one full swing before you hit. Release when the bar is moving away from your path, then let the ball slip through the gap.
- Use the arrow keys for tiny corrections. Dragging with a mouse is fast, but the keyboard lets you adjust the angle and power in small, repeatable steps.
Mini Golf FAQ
▸What does par mean here?
Par is the number of strokes an expert would take on that hole, shown at the bottom as Par 2, 3 or 4. Matching it is solid and beating it earns bonus messages such as Birdie or Eagle.
▸What happens when the ball lands in water?
You get a one stroke penalty and the ball is placed back at the spot of your previous shot. Try a different angle or lighter power.
▸Can I redo a hole?
No, the course runs from hole one to nine in order, so make every stroke count. Starting a new game resets the whole round.
▸Is there a limit to strokes?
Yes. After nine strokes on a hole the game ends that hole and you carry on, though the score for it will be zero.
