About Pinball Galaxy

Pinball Galaxy is a single-table pinball game with a space theme. You launch a steel ball from the lane on the right, bat it around with two flippers at the bottom and try to keep it alive. Pink bumpers kick the ball away for points, and a row of five stars across the top lights up as you hit them.

Each game gives you three balls and takes around two minutes, which makes it a good quick arcade fix. It is easy to start because there are only two flipper controls and a launch button. A strong game lights the full star row more than once so the score multiplier climbs.

How to play Pinball Galaxy

  1. Hold the launch control to fill the power meter, then release to shoot the ball up.
  2. Use the flippers to bat the ball back up whenever it falls toward them.
  3. Aim at the pink bumpers for points and at the five stars across the top.
  4. Light all five stars for a big bonus and a higher score multiplier.
  5. When the ball drains, the next one starts; the game ends after the third is lost.

Controls

Keyboard and mouseHold Space or the down arrow and release to launch the ball; the longer you hold, the harder it goes. Flip the left paddle with the left arrow, Z or A, and the right paddle with the right arrow, D, L or the slash key.
Phone and tabletPress and hold the lane at the bottom right to build launch power, then lift to fire. Tap or hold the left half of the screen for the left flipper and the right half for the right flipper.

Scoring

The large bumpers give 100 each, the centre one 150 and the two small side ones 50 each, and every star is worth 50 on its first hit. Lighting all five stars gives a 1000 point bonus and raises the multiplier by one, up to x5, which applies to bumper and star points. Losing a ball resets the multiplier to x1.

Tips and strategy

  • Do not hold both flippers up all the time. Raise one only when the ball arrives so you can control its direction and avoid it bouncing straight down the middle.
  • Launch with medium or full power to reach the stars at the top. A weak launch can leave the ball bouncing near the plunger lane.
  • Keep chasing the stars rather than only bumpers. The 1000 point bonus and multiplier help far more than a few extra 100 point bumper hits.
  • The flippers swing quickly, so hitting the ball near the tip sends it farther than hitting it near the pivot. Wait for the ball to roll down the flipper if you want accuracy.
  • If the ball stops moving on the table for a couple of seconds, the game gives it a random nudge, so you never need to wait forever for a stuck ball.

Pinball Galaxy FAQ

▸How many balls do I get?

Three. After you lose the third one, the game ends and your score is submitted. A message tells you how many are left after each drain.

▸What does the multiplier do?

It multiplies the points from bumpers and stars. It starts at x1, goes up by one each time you light all five stars, stops at x5 and resets when you lose a ball.

▸Can I use both flippers at once?

Yes. On a keyboard use one key from each side, and on a touch screen use two thumbs, one on each half of the screen.

▸Does my score count toward the weekly leaderboard?

Yes. Once the last ball drains, your score is posted and can earn XP and rank on the weekly leaderboard.
