About Snake Circuit
Snake Circuit takes the classic snake idea and adds neon walls and teleporting portals. You guide a glowing green snake around a 20 by 22 grid, eating yellow dots to grow longer while avoiding the pink border, the grey wall blocks and your own tail. Every few dots, the board changes into a new circuit with more obstacles.
A run takes about two minutes, though skilled players can last longer. It suits anyone who likes simple controls and tight turns. A good run clears several circuits, uses the portals confidently and keeps the snake from boxing itself in as it grows.
How to play Snake Circuit
- Turn the snake toward the yellow dot. It moves by itself, so you only choose direction.
- Eat the dot to grow one segment and add to your score. A new dot appears somewhere free.
- Avoid the board edge, the grey wall blocks and the snake's own body. Any contact ends the run.
- From the second circuit, step into one portal ring to leave from its partner, still travelling in the same direction.
- After every six dots, a new circuit starts with extra walls and a bonus.
Controls
| Keyboard and mouse | Steer with the arrow keys or WASD. Turns are buffered, so two quick key presses in a row will both be applied. |
|---|---|
| Phone and tablet | Swipe on the board in the direction you want to turn, or use the on-screen arrow pad. Each swipe or tap queues one turn. |
Scoring
Each dot is worth 10 points plus 2 for every circuit you have finished, so later dots pay more. Completing a circuit, which takes six dots, adds a 50 point bonus. The snake also speeds up with every dot you eat, up to a limit, so a high score comes from surviving the fast stretch.
Tips and strategy
- Plan turns two moves ahead. The snake never stops, so look at where the path leads after your next turn rather than only at the dot.
- You cannot reverse into yourself, so a sudden back-turn is ignored. Use a sideways step first to change direction safely.
- Treat the portals as shortcuts to a dot on the other side of a wall. Enter in a straight line, because you leave in the same direction you entered.
- Keep the snake in loose loops instead of long straight lines. A tight coil leaves little room, while a wide pattern leaves space for the growing tail.
- Use the turn buffer for tight corridors. Pressing two directions quickly lets you make a quick zigzag without losing a step.
Snake Circuit FAQ
▸Why are portals not in the first circuit?
Portals only begin from the second circuit onward. In the first circuit you play with just the border and a few wall blocks, which makes it a gentle start.
▸Does the snake keep its length in a new circuit?
Yes. When a new circuit starts, the walls change but your snake carries on with the length it already has, so later circuits are harder to navigate.
▸Can I run into my tail?
The tip of the tail moves away as you move, so following right behind it is safe. Hitting any other part of your body ends the run.
▸Does the game get faster?
Yes. Each dot you eat makes the snake a little quicker, and each circuit adds a small extra boost, until it reaches a fixed top speed.
