About Spiral Drop

Spiral Drop puts a bouncing ball on top of a tall tower made of stacked rings. You cannot steer the ball. Instead you spin the tower, so that a gap in the next ring lines up beneath the ball. When the ball finds a gap it drops to the ring below, and each ring you pass counts one point. Red segments are deadly.

Runs last one to three minutes, so it is ideal for a spare moment. The idea is easy to grasp but the pace builds, because the gaps shrink and red segments increase the deeper you go. A good run chains several drops together without touching a red piece and keeps a calm, steady spin.

How to play Spiral Drop

  1. Spin the tower so a gap in the ring below sits directly under the ball.
  2. Let the ball bounce down through the gap to the next level.
  3. Avoid the red segments; landing on one ends the run at once.
  4. Normal coloured segments are safe to land on, and the ball just bounces back up.
  5. Keep going for as many rings as you can.

Controls

Keyboard and mouseHold the left and right arrow keys, or A and D, to spin the tower. You can also press the mouse button on the game and drag sideways.
Phone and tabletTouch the screen and drag your finger left or right to rotate the tower. Small, smooth movements work better than big swipes.

Scoring

You earn one point for every ring the ball drops past, and the counter at the top shows your ring total. If the ball falls through several rings in a single drop, a combo marker such as x2 or x3 appears, but each ring is still worth one point. Your best total is stored alongside the current run.

Tips and strategy

  • Rotate before the ball starts falling. After a bounce, you have a short time while it rises, so line up the next gap early instead of reacting at the last moment.
  • Take small movements. The tower follows your input with a smooth lag, so big swings can overshoot the gap and rotate a red segment under the ball.
  • Look one ring ahead as well as the one you are aiming for. If the gap you want has red beside it, a slight drift can be fatal.
  • Landing on a normal segment is a safe bounce, not a failure. If you are not lined up, simply wait for the ball to bounce and try again.
  • Stay calm as the tower deepens. The gap is four segments wide at first and narrows to two, while red segments grow in number, so patience matters more than speed.

Spiral Drop FAQ

▸What kills the ball?

Only the red segments. If the ball lands on one, the run ends immediately. Landing on any other solid segment just makes the ball bounce back up.

▸Why can I not control the ball directly?

The ball always sits at the centre and bounces on its own. Your only job is to rotate the tower so that the right piece is below it.

▸Does it get harder?

Yes. The gap starts four segments wide and shrinks to two as you go deeper, and the number of red segments per ring increases up to six.

▸Does my score count toward the weekly leaderboard?

Yes. When the run ends, your ring count is submitted and can earn XP and a position on the weekly leaderboard.
