About Jelly Crush

Jelly Crush is a match-three puzzle played on an eight-by-eight board of smiling jellies. Swap two neighbouring jellies so that three or more of the same colour line up, and they pop, new ones drop in from above and sometimes chain into further matches by themselves. You get a limited number of moves and a points target to reach.

It fits a break of three to ten minutes and needs no experience. Casual players enjoy the bright chain reactions, while planners can look several swaps ahead. A good run beats each goal with moves to spare, since every level you clear grants a few extra moves and pushes the goal higher.

How to play Jelly Crush

  1. Pick a jelly and swap it with a neighbour above, below, left or right.
  2. Make a line of three or more matching colours to clear them; swaps that make no match slide back and cost nothing.
  3. Watch the falling jellies, because chain reactions score more.
  4. Reach the score goal shown in the top right to move up a level and earn four more moves.
  5. The game ends when your moves run out.

Controls

Keyboard and mouseClick a jelly, then click a neighbour to swap, or drag a jelly toward its neighbour. With the keyboard, move the highlight with the arrow keys, press Space or Enter to pick a jelly up, then press an arrow to swap it that way.
Phone and tabletSwipe a jelly toward an adjacent one to swap them, or tap one jelly and then tap its neighbour. Only horizontal and vertical neighbours can swap.

Scoring

Each cleared jelly is worth 10 points multiplied by the combo count, so every follow-up chain in the same turn counts for more. Clearing six or more at once adds a bonus of 5 points per jelly. You start with 20 moves, the first goal is 600, and each level raises the goal while adding four moves.

Tips and strategy

  • Make four in a row on purpose. The jelly in your swap turns striped, and when that one is later cleared it wipes its whole row or column, so it is a strong setup.
  • Prefer swaps near the bottom of the board. They shift more jellies above, which creates cascades you did not have to pay a move for.
  • Only swaps that create a match use a move. If you are unsure, test a swap; a failed one bounces back and your move count stays the same.
  • Remember that more colours join in as you level up, going from four kinds to five at level three and six at level six, so matches become rarer.
  • If you are stuck, wait a few seconds. After about five idle seconds two jellies start to wobble to show a swap that works, and the board reshuffles if none remain.

Jelly Crush FAQ

▸Does a failed swap cost a move?

No. A move is only used when your swap creates a match. If it does not, the two jellies swap back to where they were.

▸What happens if there are no matches left?

The board is shuffled automatically and a message tells you so. The shuffle is checked so that at least one valid move exists afterwards.

▸What do striped jellies do?

Matching four or more in a line creates a striped jelly. When it is included in a later match, it clears its entire row or column, which can set off more clears.

▸Does my score count toward the weekly leaderboard?

Yes. When your moves run out your total is submitted, and it can earn XP and a place on the weekly leaderboard.
